Due to the lack of sleep lately, I haven’t had many bright ideas for blog entries this week. A few things happened that I thought, Hmm, I could blog about that! But I was too tired to write about it at all interestingly. So here’s some stuff that’s happened this past week that didn’t merit a full post about it all on its own, but perhaps put together it’ll all be worth posting.
1. I was sitting on the couch. Jacey was sitting by the entryway, one of her favorite places to play. Suddenly, she started to make a horrible noise. Somewhere between “I’m about to throw up” and “I’m coughing up a hairball.” I ran over to her. Her eyes were watering; her nose was running; she was drooling more than I’ve ever seen. I leaned her over, thinking maybe she was going to throw up. She just kept making the noise and funny faces. I could hear her breathing, so she wasn’t choking, but maybe something was caught in her throat? I tried to look. I wiped up the drool, patted her back, brought her back to the couch, and generally tried to be comforting, but she wasn’t in the least bothered by all this. I mean, physically, yes, something was odd, but she wasn’t upset by it. Just maybe a tad surprised. She calmed down, so I got up to grab a tissue for her nose, and it started again. Finally, one of the times she opened her mouth wide, I saw something which hadn’t been there before. Quick as I could, I stuck my fingers in there (dangerous since she got her top teeth, let me tell you!) and whipped out… a leaf. Or part of one. About an inch by half an inch. Apparently she swallowed it, it got stuck in her throat, and then she was trying to cough it up. I was amazed, thinking there’s no way this could have felt good. She was utterly indifferent. Maybe she won’t eat leaf pieces anymore?
2. I went to see the Hannah Montana movie. Yes, I did. No, I’m not ashamed. Okay, only a little. I didn’t even have to go alone. Jacey went with me, and somebody took us. It wasn’t Kellen, but I won’t name who it is to protect his innocence. Or her.
3. I cleaned my bedroom. That single sentence deserves a whole post to itself.
4. Last night, Jacey woke up at 11:30. Kellen got her back to sleep. Then she woke up at 2:30. Kellen brought her to bed with us. Then she woke up at 3:00. Then she woke up at 4:00. Then she woke up at 5:45. Then she woke up at 8:00 for good. It was an awesome night.
5. It rained so much yesterday and today that the empty bowl outside for dog’s water (left out there from a day I had to lock them outside, but empty because the inside bowl has water and I haven’t had to lock them out in a few days and I was just too lazy to bring the bowl in) that is up under the eaves of the house is completely full of water. Even though no water fell directly into it from the sky or the roof of the house. You win the prize if you’re actually able to understand that first sentence.
